Campaign Story

6 months after taking out 105k for pilot school, we find out the only way to have children is through IVF… and that it’s 30 thousand dollars…

We have and are still applying for grants…
Our state has no IVF assistance requirements and we cannot find insurance to cover any of it.

We’re in our mid and late 30’s, and evaluations say time is running out…
It’s been a hard pill to swallow. It’s been even tougher to write this and then actually send it to anybody.

As a nurse caring for other people for many years now, a calling and big part of my life, I am determined to share my this compassion, joy, and caring love as a mother. My husband is convinced we can’t find a way to pay for IVF and still afford to care for ourselves and our child after birth too. I have a brighter outlook… I believe we should at least cast a line on our luck. Who knows? Maybe we can be like others who were willing to share their story and ask for some help.

My husband is already worried about making those payments on our 105k loan in six months, forget about adding on another loan payment. Out of the question in his mind, and I hear that… and I get it. But if we don’t try now, we’ll be out of biological time.

We are looking into adoption and fostering as well. I always said, “I’d like to have 5 kids, someday” so if only 1 gives me the joy and experience of pregnancy, OK 🙂

It’s a funny thing though, that once we go through this one time, it’s 2k to use the embryos, sperm, and/ or eggs that are frozen from this 30k process to transfer into me. (Our infertility hurdle is male factor.)

I wish I could do something more to serve you… maybe one day I’ll be your nurse.

Even $5 makes a difference to support us.

I can’t thank you enough, and I hope to show my husband that miracles happen. And that dreams can come true!
